We Earth, 40x40 cm. acrylic colors on canvas, 2020. The artist Davide Ragazzi in visual research on Cosmo Art, who has been developing for over twenty years, reworks photographs of Planet Earth, the Moon and other rocky planets. We Earth is a tribute to Earthrise, the most famous photograph of the Earth and the lunar surface, taken during the Apollo 8 mission, on December 24, 1968, by astronaut William Anders. During the lockdown period, lived in Italy in 2020, the artist chose to be inspired by the well-known and recognizable Earthrise photography, to create, within the Ocean, Earth and Space Series, a work that vividly exposes the strength of Nature, our "distance", our difficulties in connecting with her and the malaise generated by our responsibilities towards it. A Planet Earth preciously depicted with pearly blue, iridiscent white and silver colors wrapped in the opaque black color of the space of the universe, an opaque color that symbolizes our silent connection.
